The seminar for heads of regional family planning centers was conducted
On 1-2 of March 2007 with the support of the United Nations Population Fund was held the seminar for heads of regional family planning centers.
On February 15, Tina Karol, famous Ukrainian pop-singer and celebrity has visited UNFPA Country Office in Ukraine and had a meeting with Dr. Borys Vornyk, UNFPA Assistant Representative in Ukraine.Tina Karol expressed her interest in the work of UNFPA in Ukraine and, in particular, in its activities targeted at youth.Ms. Karol shared her vision on the importance of formation of safe behavior, HIV and drug abuse prevention among Ukrainian youth, and expressed her willingness to collaborate with UNFPA Ukraine on youth-related issues. The meeting has resulted in a draft collaboration work-plan of UNFPA Ukraine with Tina Karol for 2007-2008.
In accordance with implementation of the working plan of the UNDP Project "HIV/STI Prevention among the Uniformed Services in Ukraine" funded by the European Commission, on February 9, 2007 at the Central Officer's House (Kyiv), the first meeting of the newly set up Inter-agency Group took place that consisted of the generals and other high-ranking officers from the Main Directorates and higher educational institutions of the partner-ministries, i.e. the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The JP Steering Committee Meeting took place on January 18, 2007. The representatives of national partner agencies, UNDP and UNFPA programme staff and management, and the EC representative in charge of the programme participated in the event.
