UNFPA's Division for Arab States, Europe and Central Asia, jointly with MTV Staying Alive campaign, has hosted a regional forum on Youth Pop Culture, Media and HIV/AIDS in Istanbul, Turkey, April 9-12, 2007.Ukraine was represented by a team of 3 people: Tina Karol - famous Ukrainian pop-singer, her producer Mr. Eugene Ogir, and Mr. Andrey Poshtaruk, UNFPA Programme Associate.

Training of trainers on HIV/STI voluntary counselling and testing within the framework of joint UNFPA/UNDP programme funded by EC "HIV/STI Prevention among Uniformed Services in Ukraine" (23-03-2007, 16:45)
On March 19-23 UNFPA has organized a five-day follow-up training for medical personnel from the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Internal Forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Border Guard of Ukraine. It became the last event in a series of trainings of trainers on "HIV/STI voluntary counselling and testing" organized within the framework of the joint UNFPA/UNDP Programme funded by EC "HIV/STI Prevention among the uniformed personnel in Ukraine".
Letters of Understanding signed between UNFPA and regional state administrations (21-03-2007, 16:07)
In March-April 2007 within the framework of UNFPA programme funded by Sida "Reduction of HIV/STI spread among youth in the selected regions of Ukraine" Letters of Understanding were signed between UNFPA and State administrations in 4 regions (AR Crimea, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnepropetrovsk).The signed document regulates cooperation between regional local authorities and UNFPA during programme implementation. Joint Programme "Reduction of HIV/STI infection spread among youth in the selected regions of Ukraine" in 2007-2009 will be implemented in five regions of Ukraine: AR Crimea, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk.
Round table in Simferopol (21-03-2007, 14:16)
On March 13 in Simferopol the Letter of Understanding was signed between Council of Ministers of Autonomous Republic of Crimea and United Nations Agencies (UNFPA/UNICEF/UNDP) in terms of the programme "Reduction of HIV/STI infection spread among youth in the selected regions of Ukraine", funded by Swedish International Development Agency (Sida).
A small round table meeting is planned to be held on March 16, 2007 (12-03-2007, 09:02)
In the framework of the programme "Support to establishing a comprehensive system of social services for young drug users" a small round table meeting is planned to be held on March 16, 2007. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the pre-testing of the standards for social services provided to IDUs with the leading narcological experts, specialists and social workers from the state social services from Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Chernigiv, who will be the participants of this workshop.
Joint training of trainers was held on February 26-28, 2007 (07-03-2007, 10:10)
On 26-28 February 2007, United Nations Population Fund in close cooperation with National Partners: the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Internal Forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and State Border Guard Service of Ukraine organized and held a training of trainers on "HIV/STI Prevention and promotion of safe behaviour among the uniformed personnel of Ukraine".
