On 2-4 November 2009 in Saint-Petersburg (Russian Federation) was held workshop on advocacy for Reproductive Health Commodity Security (RHCS)

The workshop had been organized by UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (EECARO) in partnership with the UNFPA Technical Division and the European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development. The workshop was attended by 50 delegates from fifteen countries of Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

Ukrainian delegation was presented by Ms. Iryna Chibisova, specialist of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Mr. Oleksandr Kulik, chief gynecologist of health department of Vinnitsa regional state administration and Mr. Victor Kolomiets, representative of UNPFA Country Office in Ukraine.

The workshop objectives included:

• increase of understanding about the Reproductive Health Commodity Security impact on achieving MDGs and improving women’s health;
• strengthening of the regional capacity in effective advocacy for SRH;
• strengthening of RHCS networks for cooperation.

As the result, Ukrainian participants of the workshop had developed the action plan for strengthening of the capacity in effective advocacy for sexual reproductive health at national and regional levels.
